How is the Assessment Conducted?

Data maturity defines a company’s competence in efficiently handling data throughout its lifecycle for strategic decision-making and achieving business goals. It describes the evolution from basic data management to advanced analysis capabilities, enabling data-driven insights and actions. This concept varies depending on the industry, size, and specific requirements of the company. To assess their data maturity, firms can evaluate their abilities and practices in areas such as data management, governance, analytical competence, and corporate culture.

Conducting a Data Maturity Assessment involves defining assessment criteria, typically encompassing factors such as strategy & culture, business governance, data architecture, technology, and organization & processes.

  1. Preparation: Setting the framework for the assessment, scheduling sessions, and gathering necessary baseline information.
  2. Assessment workshop: Conducting the actual assessment using a defined data maturity questionnaire to evaluate the current status and target goals.
  3. Evaluation: Analyzing the results to categorize the company’s current maturity level.
  4. Conclusion: Presenting the findings and deriving prioritized action recommendations, serving as a basis for developing a roadmap for advancement.
