As a BARC Fellow, Gernot Molin advises local and international organizations of all sizes and industries in defining strategy for advanced analytics and business intelligence, as well as data platforms for machine learning and artificial intelligence.

He is also a consultant for digital transformation, data architecture concepts and software selection, data modeling and solution design, as well as cloud strategy and cloud platform concepts.

He has been with BARC since 2019.

What’s the coolest thing about your job at BARC?

The exchange of ideas with all the analysts. It’s a lot of fun to have this much experience and competence in one team.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

The energy level of my three kids.

Where did you work before joining BARC?

I was managing director at an implementation consultancy for BI and AI.

What is your favorite food?

Fillet steak (beef, lamb or game)

If you could meet any person living or dead, who would it be and why?

Carl Sagan – the great scientist, philosopher and author. Everyone should read his commentary on the photograph “Pale blue dot”. He was always looking at the big picture and focused on the things that unite us as humans rather than what separates us. It would be nice to have a conversation with someone like that in today’s world fragmented by social media.
