1. Introduction

DATA festival is a unique and innovative event and community platform that connects data experts and users and promotes networking. Its focus is on topics such as Data Science & Machine Learning; Data Engineering & Architecture; Data Visualization and Analytics. At the DATA festival events, you will meet the who’s who of the data scene: from data scientists, data engineers, AI and machine learning experts, analysts and BI experts to software developers, software architects and scientists to researchers and students – everyone who shares a passion for data is welcome at the DATA festival.

The host of the events is DATA festival GmbH and the co-hosts are Alexander Thamm GmbH represented by Managing Director Alexander Thamm, and BARC GmbH, represented by Managing Director Dr. Carsten Bange. In addition to sponsor presentations (see general terms and conditions for sponsors of our events), the DATA festival also offers interested parties the opportunity to apply to be a speaker by means of a Call-for-Presentations form.

2. Call-for-Presentations

In addition to the possibility to present as a sponsor at the DATA festival, prospective speakers can also apply through the Call-for-Presentations (CfP) process. By submitting the Call-for-Presentations form, you have the opportunity to apply as a speaker. Speakers recruited through the Call-for-Presentations process are not paid to speak at the DATA festival. The program committee for the DATA festival welcomes presentations that demonstrate the concrete implementation of solutions for a technically experienced audience. Presentations are intended to show innovative projects and developments, exciting case studies and use cases, proven best practices and new ways of handling data. The aim is to educate event participants and share the latest successful techniques and technologies for Data Science, Artificial lntelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Data Engineering, Architecture and Visualization. A Call-for-Presentations form is the primary way to apply for a presentation slot. Furthermore, the program will also include poster pitch sessions, hands-on workshops and panel discussions, so participation in these formats is also possible. Presentations are scheduled to last 30 minutes (including Q&A). Panel discussions, workshops and tutorials will last 60-90 minutes.

8. Benefits and values

The DATA festival community aims to have a positive impact on the use of data and AI. We want to use data and AI responsibly and for the benefit of people because data-based technologies can help humanity tackle its biggest challenges such as climate change, epidemics and a fair global economy. In doing so, we believe in European values such as privacy and human-centric AI. The focus of the economic use of data is to generate real value for people and organizations. In doing so, we are creating an economically strong Europe with digital products and services that scale globally and are based on European values. Participation in the DATA festival thus offers several advantages to the speaker: the ability to share experiences and innovations, contribute to the knowledge of others and exchange ideas with a strong community. In addition, speakers can actively contribute to digitally strengthening Europe. This is what DATA festival stands for.
