BARC is pleased to welcome Tobias Zwingmann as a new BARC Fellow. He brings many years of hands-on experience in implementing AI and data strategies and will strengthen BARC’s expertise particularly in the areas of AI strategy, governance, and value-driven execution of (Gen)AI initiatives.
As a BARC Fellow, Tobias will help bridge the gap between experimentation and value creation in AI projects. In addition to his advisory role, he will contribute to BARC research studies, starting with the new survey “AI ROI – Are We Seeing Results Yet?”, which explores the concrete business outcomes companies are achieving with AI today.
Tobias has over 15 years of experience at the intersection of business and technology. As Managing Partner at RAPYD.AI, he supports organizations across various industries in successfully adopting AI and machine learning solutions. He is the author of The Profitable AI Advantage (Packt, 2025), AI-Powered Business Intelligence (O’Reilly, 2022), and co-author of Augmented Analytics (O’Reilly, 2024). As a LinkedIn Top Voice 2024 and 2025, he regularly shares practical insights on AI and business with over 80,000 followers.

Tobias will make his first public appearance as a BARC Fellow at the Data & AI Summit 2025 on November 12–13, 2025 in Würzburg, where he will discuss how organizations can move from use cases to business cases and achieve economic success with AI.
“With Tobias Zwingmann, we are gaining one of Europe’s most recognized and practice-oriented AI experts,”
says Dr. Carsten Bange, founder and managing director of BARC.
“His expertise in governance and value creation will significantly enrich our research and consulting for companies on their journey into the AI future.”
