The third edition of BARC Score Analytics for Business Users examines the solutions of 16 major vendors in the global marketplace based on their strengths and weaknesses. It evaluates business user support for the entire analytical cycle: from data and its preparation to presentation and shared use of content across the organization.
To be included in BARC Score Analytics for Business Users, vendors and tools must meet a number of financial and technical criteria.
Products must support the complete analytics cycle covering at least ‘data preparation’, ‘visual analysis’ and ‘dashboards’. All steps of analytics content creation must be accessible and usable for business users, and seamless integration between all components is required.
In addition, the vendor must generate a minimum of 10 million Euros in license revenue per year with the above products, spread across at least two separate geographical regions. Furthermore, the product set must have a considerable number of implementations and license or subscription revenue across different geographical regions to be considered as global. All global economic regions are taken into account (i.e., Europe, Middle East and Africa, North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific).
Software providers are evaluated on two dimensions, ‘Portfolio Capabilities’ and ‘Market Execution’, each representing an axis on the chart.
In addition to BARC’s analyst opinion, user experience also plays an important role.
For our Scores in the areas of BI, analytics and business planning, we draw on the world’s largest surveys for BI & analytics and planning software, the BI & Analytics Survey and the Planning Survey, which ask companies each year about their satisfaction with software vendors and solutions.
Detailed analyst knowledge and comprehensive survey results are summarized in the BARC Score report and chart. The chart provides a clear view of each vendor’s market position and portfolio.
