In Kombination mit Snowflake. Clone-Database-Feature: Flexibles Deployment von temporären Data Warehouses (Applikation & Daten).

What do you like least/what could be improved?

Data bzw. Column Lineage. Die Visualisierungen sind bei den riesigen Mengen an Objekten nicht gut zu verwenden.

What key advice would you give to other companies looking to introduce/use the product?

Die BI-/Data-Organisation sollte vorbereitet sein für DataOps. Z.B. automatisches Testing, CI/CD, agile Software Entwicklung. Korrekte Anwendung der Data Vault 2.0 Methodologie.

How would you sum up your experience?

Datavault Builder gibt einen strikten technischen Rahmen vor und das ermöglicht es uns als BI Engineers den Fokus auf die Fachlichkeit zu legen und uns nicht um technische Details (z.B. Datentypen der technischen Spalten, Hashfunktion für Primary Keys, Erstellung von PIT-Tabellen, usw.) zu kümmern. Allerdings gibt es in der Datenwertschöpfung vor und nach Datavault Builder (z.B. vor: Data Lake Bewirtschaftung, nach: Materialisierung und Visualisierung) noch eine Welt, die auch gemanaged werden muss. Datavault Builder reicht hier alleine nicht aus.
