BARC Reviews are independent profile pages for software vendors and service providers in the field of data and analytics. They contain key information about the vendor or service provider, as well as analyst ratings from BARC Scores and customer feedback, where available, from our Customer Feedback Surveys. BARC Reviews offer targeted guidance to companies engaged in selecting suitable solutions and partners.

The profile pages consist of several sections:

  • Brief assessment by BARC analysts
  • User reviews – see “Where do the ratings in BARC reviews come from?”
  • Vendor information: Information provided by the vendor or service provider itself (paid service)
  • BARC review & rating: Assessment by BARC analysts
  • User reviews and experiences – see “Where do the ratings in BARC reviews come from?”

BARC+ is a paid subscription service that provides access to all BARC research content, including the complete results of the Customer Feedback Surveys (all KPIs). BARC Reviews are profile pages with information about software and service providers that contain both selected publicly available user reviews from the surveys (e.g., open customer feedback responses) and paid content (e.g., reasons for purchase, problems, complete metrics and KPI results).

BARC lists market-relevant software and service providers in clearly defined market segments. The selection is based on market observation, company key figures and customer demand. Providers can request a profile if they are active in the respective segments.

The ratings come from independent Customer Feedback Surveys conducted annually by BARC (e.g. The BI & Analytics Survey, The Data Management Survey, The Planning Survey, The Financial Consolidation Survey, The Data & Analytics Service Provider Survey).

Only providers with at least 20 validated responses from customers are included.

All responses undergo a multi-stage quality control process, including checks for plausibility, clarity and minimum number. Only then are they published.

A provider profile can exist even without participation in a customer feedback survey. In this case, no written customer feedback (reviews) is displayed.

BARC reviews are continuously updated and supplemented with new evaluations as soon as the latest survey or BARC Score results are available.

Participation in Customer Feedback Surveys is voluntary and anonymous. All reviews come directly from end users. The content of the reviews is compiled independently by BARC.
