Kaufland Stiftung & Co. KG – Centralized vs. decentralized analytics – striking the right balance
Striking the right balance between centralized and decentralized analytics capabilities is no easy task.
In this talk I will introduce two case studies from my time at Lidl International and Kaufland International:
- Case 1: A centralized approach as a starting point – subsequent decentralization
- Case 2: A decentralized approach as a starting point – subsequent creation of central team
I will share lessons learnt on how to get „the best of both worlds“ – centralized and decentralized analytics capabilities.

Adidas – One size does not fit all : A data-driven size recommendation approach for online fashion retailing
Size and Fit are crucial considerations for both consumers and fashion retailers, especially in a landscape where physical interaction with a product before purchase is limited. A significant portion of returns in the fashion industry is attributed to Size and Fit issues, leading to not only a loss in demand value but also incurring high handling costs and leaving consumers dissatisfied.
At adidas, we have developed a data-driven approach to address these challenges. Our solution provides personalised size recommendations in real-time, ensuring a seamless and satisfying experience for our consumers.

CARIAD – Unlocking the business potential of GenAI in the automotive industry
In the ever-evolving landscape of the automotive industry, the role of artificial intelligence has become increasingly pivotal. Generative AI (GenAI), with its powerful capabilities, is spearheading transformative changes across various facets of the industry. In our presentation, we’ll explore two remarkable use cases we have developed at CARIAD that exemplify how GenAI is revolutionizing customer engagement and data analytics in the automotive sector.
Beetlebabble utilizes Large Language Models to create a dynamic chatbot that excels in real-world customer interactions, drawing from a vast dataset of indexed support calls.
Meanwhile, InsightPilot acts as a data co-pilot, simplifying complex data for sales teams, enabling better-informed decisions. These applications, together with other GenAI use cases, promise to redefine the automotive industry by enhancing customer experiences and harnessing the potential of data-driven insights.
The future of the automotive industry is a journey powered by GenAI, where possibilities are limitless, and innovation knows no bounds.
